Explore the beauty of Mana Pools – by land and water – on this 7-night Mana Adventure. With an abundance of wildlife species, high predator activity and superlative safari experiences, Mana Pools will leave you longing for your next return.

The legendary Mana Pools is known for its wildlife rich flood plains and magnificent views of the Zambezi River, with the Zambezi Escarpment in Zambia as a dramatic backdrop to the scenery. The river boasts some of Africa’s most amazing tiger fishing and adventure canoeing safaris, creating the perfect combination of beauty and fun and making this World Heritage site a must-visit national park. Famous for walking safaris, you can experience Mana Pools’ rich vegetation first hand.

This itinerary starts off at Kanga Camp, which overlooks the Kanga Pan, an essential water supply for a multitude of different wildlife and bird species during the dry season. Kanga pairs nicely with Zambezi Expeditions, an unfenced camp nestled along the banks of the Zambezi River. From here, you depart on a 2-night Mana Shoreline Walking Safari along the mighty Zambezi and then finish at Nyamatusi Camp, a remote camp where one can experienced unmarred Africa.

Tour Plan

3 nights Kanga Camp | 3 nights Zambezi Expeditions Safari starts and ends in Harare, Zimbabwe.

Day 1 - 3 Kanga Camp Zimbabwe

Situated within a private concession in Mana Pools National Park, Kanga Camp is an utterly untouched wilderness paradise. Adjacent to the remote Kanga Pan, our seasonal Kanga safari lodge offers an unspoiled, authentic Mana Pools safari experience. Aside from the Zambezi River many miles away, Kanga Pan is the sole source of water in the dry season, making this an absolute haven for wildlife. This diverse area has multiple vlei lines and mixed woodland types from Mopane woodland to Jesse bush and riverine forests. Kanga Camp works well in collaboration with Zambezi Expeditions where you can enjoy the excitement of canoeing as well as catch and release fishing on the Zambezi River.

    Day 4 - 6 Zambezi Expeditions Zimbabwe

Zambezi Expeditions showcases one of the most magnificent settings in Zimbabwe’s iconic Mana Pools National Park. Comfortable yet classic, the camp offers the kind of intimacy with nature that can only be achieved by immersing yourself in the heart of the wild. Fall asleep to the sound of the flowing river and chuckles of hippo and wake-up with the dawn chorus to a spectacular African sunrise. At Zambezi Expeditions you will connect with nature in a deep and meaningful way. Set under the shade of winter thorn and ebony trees, each tent has en suite bathroom facilities with hot bucket showers and the main area has charging facilities for your all-important cameras. With unique access to the Zambezi River, your days will be filled with adventurous canoeing safaris, tracking game along the shorelines by foot, and fishing for the iconic tiger fish. An absolute must, however, is a game drive in an open 4 x 4 along the flood plains and into the heart of the Mana Pools UNESCO World Heritage Site.
